The challange
Our Promise
SUVADI is a decision support system for community nutrition interventions that provides local health departments with the tool to gather and analyse population nutrition data to inform decision-making. Health departments can improve pregnancy and child health outcomes by better targeting and timing of community nutrition interventions.

A pilot project in Northern Sri Lanka
In the Northern part of Sri Lanka, a local NGO has planned a community nutrition intervention by analysing 24-hour food recalls collated via our mobile-based platform. Based on these insights, they implemented targeted interventions such as promoting seasonal food to selected communities to overcome food price fluctuations in the market. Within just one year, they achieved a remarkable 30% increase in the percentage of women who take recommended diverse diets, leading to a lowered risk of hidden hunger. This impactful work demonstrates the effectiveness of data-driven approaches, even with limited resources.

Science Behind
Fuzzy logic based algorithms for decision support
Pre-trained AI modules and knowledge base
The proposed system enhances the reliability, speed, and accuracy of the decision-making of public health practitioners regarding the timing and targeting of community nutrition interventions.
The knowledge base will be built upon guidelines for the prevention and treatment of malnutrition from the Directorate of Health of the specific countries. The pre-trained AI modules will be used food recognition and diet pattern analysis.
Computer Vision technology to process the meal images
Computer vision-based food recognition involves using machine learning algorithms to identify and classify different types of food in digital images or videos.
